My name is Scraps and I write about, research, and teach a range of subjects: literature, sports, culture, digital humanities, urban history, immigration, education… and of course biking and nordic skiing. I used to work out of Iowa City, Iowa, but now I’m in a new nabe: Brooklyn, New York (the mightiest of the five boroughs). My aim is not to criticize, but rather to critique… to see how things work – and to have fun along the way.
RANTIQUE: A new term for tuff times!
Rant-ique…rantique. New word on the street that I dreamed up (with the help of my friend Maura). Definition: ranting and critiquing simultaneously. It is not very elegant, but it is better than straight-out ranting. And it is tuffer than simply critiquing.
